SALTCOATS VICTORIA 0
IRVINE VICTORIA 2
LEADERS Irvine maintained their stranglehold at the top of the table with a hard-earned win against Saltcoats Victoria.
The home side were denied what looked a fair penalty claim in 13 minutes when Jordan Craig was pulled down inside the box by a Saltcoats defender.
Sean Mears then spurned an opportunity two minutes later before visiting player Ryan Singleton was booked in 17 minutes.
Irvine came close with a Callum Davidson free-kick in 21 minutes and Kenny Parris was unlucky with an effort in 34 minutes.
Nine minutes after the break David Adams came close for the visitors.
However eight minutes later the visitors took the lead with a wonder goal as a Davidson corner-kick broke to former Girvan striker David Cunningham let fly with an effort from 25 yards which soared into the top corner of the net.
Then in 77 minutes victory was sealed when Singleton outjumped the home defence to powerfully head home another Davidson corner-kick.
IRVINE VICTORIA: Lamb; Bonner, D Wilson, Young, Mears, Singleton, Davidson, Craig, Adams, Cunningham, Parris. Subs: C Wilson, Ablorh.
