CASH-strapped Irvine Meadow shrugged off their financial woes to book a place in the lucrative third round of the Active Nation Scottish Cup.

The West Super League players have been asked to take a pay cut following the withdrawal of sponsors, 3D Golf, this week.

But a double from striker Richie Barr and a Dexy Wingate goal helped ease the worries amongst fans as they secured a comfortable away win against Selkirk.

Meadow boss Chris Strain said: "If anything the situation has galvanised the players."

The draw for the Scottish Cup third round is today at 2pm and will be on the Irvine Times website soon after.
