(GLASGOW ROAD, BARRHEAD) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION TO USE OF ROAD) ORDER 2020

On the 16 March 2020 the Council made the above named Order under, Section 14 of the RoadTraffic Regulation Act 1984. The Order has been promoted to restrict vehicular access on a section of the A736 Glasgow Road, Barrhead to facilitate the safe operation of essential resurfacing works.

The full duration of the resurfacing works will be from Monday 6th April until Sunday 19th April 2020 and will be carried out over a number of phases.

To allow the works to progress in line with health and safety

legislation it will be necessary to close Glasgow Road to vehicular traffic at its junction with the A726 Hurlet Road/Nitshill Road southwards for approximately 250 metres and this will take place only during Phase 3 of the works, from Thursday 16 April to Sunday 19 April inclusive

The proposed diversion route associated with the closure is:-Glasgow Road - Main Street - Cross Arthurlie Street - Paisley Road - Grahamston Road - Hurlet Road and vice versa.

Phases 1 and 2 of the works do not require a road closure with the work being carried out undertemporarytrafficsignals in conjunction

with a convoy vehicle between a point approximately 250 metres south of its junction with the A726 Hurlet Road/Nitshill Road

southwards to and including its junction with Salterland Road. Vehicular access to properties within the extents of the restriction

may be permitted by the contractor on site only when it is possible to do so in conjunction with the works going on at the time. Pedestrian access will be

maintained at all times.
