TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING (SCOTLAND) ACT 1997 PLANNING ETC. (SCOTLAND) ACT 2006 TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING (DEVELOPMENT PLANNING) (SCOTLAND) REGULATIONS 2008 ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 2005
MODIFIED PROPOSED REPLACEMENT SOUTH AYRSHIRE LOCAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN AND RELATED ENVIRONMENTAL REPORT
On 24 March 2020, South Ayrshire Council decided to modify the Proposed Replacement South Ayrshire Local Development Plan (PLDP2), to take account of representations received during the statutory consultation period.
In accordance with that decision and the relevant provisions of the above legislation, notably Regulation 12 of the above Regulations and Section 16(2) of the Environmental Assessment (Scotland) Act 2005, the Council gives notice it has published, for public consultation, a Modified Proposed Replacement South Ayrshire Local Development Plan (MPLDP2) and associated documents, comprising the Environmental Report of the Strategic Environmental Assessment of PLDP2 and related Addendum assessing MPLDP2, and the Equalities Impact Assessment of MPLDP2 (EqlA). MPLDP2 is a concise, spatial, land use planning document, which sets out the Council's settled view of how it envisages South Ayrshire will be developed over the ten-year period from its adoption, a revised planning policy framework and a broad indication of the scale and location of growth in the area over a further ten years. When adopted, MPLDP2 will supersede the adopted South Ayrshire Local Development Plan (2014) and Town Centre and Retail Local Development Plan (2017), becoming the planning policy framework against which all development proposals will be assessed. MPLDP2 and associated documents may be viewed in electronic format only, on the Council's website at
second-local-development-plan, aspx To help minimise the possibility of spread of Covid-19, they will not be available to view in public libraries or Council offices, as permitted by Schedule 6, paragraph 9, of the Coronavirus (Scotland) Act 2020, nor will MPLDP2 be the subject of public exhibitions. Consultation on MPLDP2 will open on Wednesday 1 July, 2020 and close at 4:00pm on Friday, 14 August, 2020. Persons wishing to make representations on MPLDP2 should do so, online at the above web page, before the consultation closes. If members of the public are unable to make an online submission, they may submit representations in writing to: Lead Development Planner, South Ayrshire Council, Planning and Building Standards Service, County Buildings, Wellington Square, Ayr, KA7 1DR. -specifying clearly to which modification or element (strategy, policy or proposal) of MPLDP2 their representation relates. Companies, organisations, development industry professionals and all others will be expected to submit any representations online.
Previous representations on PLDP2 need not be re-submitted, as they will be retained and submitted with MPLDP2, to the Directorate of Planning and Environmental Appeals of the Scottish Government, for Examination.
