LAND REFORM (SCOTLAND) ACT 2003 NOTICE OF ORDER TO EXEMPT LAND FROM ACCESS RIGHTS
Under Section 11(9) of the Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003 (the "Act"), the Council gives notice that, on 6 August 2020, the Scottish Ministers, acting under Section 11(7) of the Act, and having considered all representations received, confirmed THE SOUTH AYRSHIRE COUNCIL (ROYAL TROON GOLF COURSE, AIG WOMEN'S BRITISH OPEN) EXEMPTING LAND FROM ACCESS RIGHTS ORDER 2020 (the "Order"), proposed by the Council under Section 11 (1) of the Act. The effect of the Order is to exempt the area of land comprising Royal Troon Golf Course (excluding the Ayrshire Coastal Path), which is outlined on the plan annexed to the Order, from the access rights which would otherwise be exercisable in respect of that land by virtue of Parti of the Act.
The purpose for which the Order is made is to enable the AIG Women's British Open golf championship to be held, with the land being proposed specifically for temporary exemption from access rights, in the interests of the safety and security of participating players and the safety of staff and the public, during the Championship.
The Order will be effective from 12.00 (midday) hours on 15 August 2020 and will expire at 11:59 (am) hours on 25 August 2020. Certified copies of the Order, and accompanying plan showing the area of land exempted temporarily from access rights, may be inspected at
