Police say a driver they found slumped at the wheel during the early hours of Saturday morning was three and a half times the drink drive limit.
At 4.10am officers say they came across a Ford Transit van stationary at Redburn Roundabout. On closer inspection they discovered the driver slumped over the wheel and stopped to speak with him.
A Strathclyde Police spokesman explained: "Being concerned for his welfare, the officers stopped to speak to him and when they opened the drivers door they say there was a strong smell of alcohol in the van." See the Times for the full story.
