THE RESULTS are in for Irvine and Kilwinning as new councillors are announced.
The polls closed last night on this year's local government elections, with the count taking place today.
Returning officer revealed the results of the count at the Magnum Centre, with some surprising revelations, including the news that Provost Pat McPhee (Cons) had lost her Ward 1 seat. Meanwhile, in Ward 2 ex-MSP Irene Oldfather made a triumphant return to local politics, becoming one of five Labour councillors to be elected across the three wards.
