IRVINE charity Coastwatch are gearing up to host one of the biggest entertainment weekends of the summer.

The group are holding a huge family fun this weekend (June 25-26) to raise money for the redevelopment of the iconic Pilot House and help towards the regeneration of the Harbourside area overall.

Run by volunteers, the charity have a plethora of activities organised for the events which will culminate in a breathtaking zip-slide across the Harbourside.

The first day will see a huge marquee at the Pilot House including a Hawaiian-themed inflatable bar, a stage with live performances (including singer Sean C Kennedy), a craft fair, home baking, birds of prey, balloons, bouncy castle, a food tent, a roadshow by Irvine Beat FM and much more.

It's certain to be one of the best family weekends of the year in Irvine but Coastwatch need your support to make it a success.

All money raised will go towards the redevelopment of the Pilot House and Harbourside where Coastwatch plan to work and operate out of the iconic tower.

The charity have also revealed that the £25 registration fee for the zip-slide no longer applies.

Anyone wanting to take part can contact Coastwatch for a sponsor form and raise a minimum of £100 in sponsorship.

Coastwatch are always looking for new volunteers and any donations to help refurbish the Pilot House.
