TWO men have appeared in court following a series of alleged incidents in Irvine town centre.
On Saturday, August 30, police received reports of alleged theft and robbery within the East Road area.
Officers were first called to a report of a car allegedly being vandalised and items being stolen at around 4.50pm on Saturday in the East Road car park.
Around 10 minutes later, they received further reports of an alleged attempt to steal a car in the same area.
A significant number of officers were quickly deployed in the town to trace those responsible for the alleged offences.
At around 11.50pm later that night, two men allegedly carried out an attempted robbery in East Road.
The pair, aged 24 and 26, were later arrested and appeared from custody at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court this week.
