AN Irvine family fighting to send their son to America for a life-changing operation have been given a huge boost this week.

Gala Bingo in Irvine raised over £750 on Sunday, September 18, for little Jackson Waddell who suffers from cerebral palsy.

The five-year-old has to walk with a frame because of his condition and his family now want to send him to the St Louis Children’s Hospital for SDR (selective dorsal rhizotomy) which could give him the ability to walk.

And this week they were given a great help by Gala Bingo after a free draw and collection for Jackson.

In total, they raised £757.50 which helped to smash the family’s £1,000 target.

That money will also help go towards a powered chair for Jackson with a long-term target to fundraise £70,000 for treatment and rehabilitation.

Gala Bingo (Irvine) posted on their Facebook page: “As you know we have been doing a free draw and collection over the weekend for little Jackson Waddell who was diagnosed with cerebral palsy.

“The total amount raised from our generous customers was £757.50.

“Jackson’s two aunties came tonight to receive the money and say a massive thank you to you all for donating over the last three days.”
