A man has been jailed for two months for assaulting his girlfriend and behaving in a racially aggravated manner towards a police officer in Kilwinning.
Luke Walker, 24, appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week for sentencing after previously pleading guilty to three charges.
Sentence had been deferred for for reports.
On February 22 at an address in Kilwinning, Walker seized hold of his partner by the body, threw her to the ground and struck her on the head to her injury.
He also behaved in a threatening or abusive manner and repeatedly shouted, swore and banged on a door at the property.
Walker also shouted, swore and uttered racial remarks towards a police constable. Walker, of Corrie Crescent in Saltcoats, was sentenced to 60 days in prison backdated to February 23.
