Irvine Police are now investigating a fire in Bank Street after fire crews tackled the blaze for several hours yesterday.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was called at 3.34pm on Tuesday, April 18 to reports of a fire in a derelict building in Irvine.
Three fire appliances were mobilised to the incident on Bank Street and crews tackled the blaze with powerful water jets.
A spokesman confirmed that there were no casualties.
Fire crews eventually left the scene at 10.10pm and the incident has been now been passed to Police Scotland.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “We can confirm officers attended the scene after reports of a fire at a derelict property on Bank Street.
“We assisted The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and there are now ongoing enquiries into matter.
“We would encourage anyone with any information to contact Police Scotland on 101.”
