A Kilwinning woman has graduated top of her class from Heriot Watt University.
Fiona Bertram, 24, bagged herself a First Class Honours degree in Bachelor of Arts in Design for Textiles.
The former Kilwinning Academy pupil did so well she was even awarded the Doctor Oliver Medal for all her hard work.
The medal is awarded to the best overall final year student of the BA in Design for Textiles programme (Fashion, Interior, Art).
Dr Oliver was a former Principal of the Scottish College of Textiles and this award was introduced in 1959.
A spokesman for the University said: “We congratulate Fiona on this honour.
“Fiona attended the Galashiels campus of the Edinburgh based university, and was joined by her sister, boyfriend and mum and dad on her graduation day last Friday.
Fiona is currently in London with some of her fellow students to put on a show of their work. Talented Fiona has also been entered for a competition, which if she wins, will see her work displayed in Paris.
Proud gran Jean Bertram said: “She is such a good girl, and she was always very good at art when she was at school and we are all just so proud of her.
“She knew she had came top of the class, but didn’t know she would be getting a medal - so that was a nice surprise.”
