A Dreghorn couple celebrated their Diamond wedding anniversary last week.
Alex Blair, 85, and Cybil Blair, 79, who moved to the area back in 1966, celebrated the landmark by enjoying a nice meal with family.
Mrs Blair said: “It went very good that night. It was just immediate family round on the Wednesday. We had a dinner with the rest of the family on Saturday.
“We first met up at New Cumnock at my aunts house in 1953. We courted for four years and then we got married in 1957 in Kilmarnock at St John’s Church.
Asked the secret to having such a long and happy marriage, she said: “Well we’re not really a couple for fighting. I suppose we just love each other.”
