A dad has denied assaulting his five-year-old son and using abusive language towards at his home in Kilwinning.
The 31-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared on an intermediate diet at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week and adhered to previous pleas of not guilty to two charges.
It is alleged that on July 24, the man seized his son by the throat, seized him by the body, dragged him by the body, and pushed him onto a car seat.
He is also alleged to have behaved in a threatening or abusive manner in that he shouted, swore and used abusive language to the child.
The man was bailed and will return to the court for trial in November.
