TWO men have appeared in court after allegedly trying to rob a woman at knifepoint.
The 56-year-old was walking along Stewart Drive in Irvine after having just visited a cash point at around 4.30pm on Saturday (December 9)
She was allegedly approached by a 19-year-old and 23-year-old, one of whom was allegedly in possession of a knife.
The men allegedly demanded her handbag, but the woman refused and ran off to raise the alarm.
Both suspects ran off but police later traced them and they were arrested for alleged assault with intent to rob.
They appeared today in Kilmarnock Sheriff Court.
