An elderly man had to be taken to hospital after an assault in Quarry Road.
Police have confirmed a 78-year-old man had to be taken to Crosshouse after the altercation on Saturday night.
He has since been released following treatment and police say their enquiries are ongoing.
No arrests have yet been made.
A police spokesperson said: "We were called to Quarry Road at around 8pm last night following a report of an altercation.
"A 78-year-old man was taken to Crosshouse Hospital then released after treatment.
"The incident is being treated as an assault and enquiries are continuing."
