RESIDENTS are being given their chance to have a say on the second phase of the council’s Local Development Plan.
Over the next nine weeks, North Ayrshire Council is hosting a series of public consultation events about the LDP and they are urging residents to get involved.
The Local Development Plan sets out how the council will guide development and investment in the area over the next 20 years.
This is the second plan that the council has produced and its important that local people get the opportunity to have their say on what’s in it.
The proposed plan was approved by the Council’s cabinet last Tuesday, and a consultation period will start on Monday, 30 April, 2018 until Friday, 29 June, 2018.
Councillor Alex Gallagher, Cabinet Member for Economy, said: “The Local Development Plan is important to North Ayrshire’s future prosperity as it sets out how land will be used and provides a framework to guide development. We are keen to hear from as many local residents and businesses as possible.
“As a Council, we remain ambitious for our area, residents and our businesses. We have exciting plans and great partnerships that will help us succeed. I would encourage everyone to come along to one of our consultation events and speak to our team about the proposed plans.”
Local communities are being asked to get involved by commenting on the plan either in writing, completing a survey or attending one of the consultation events.
The consultation events are: Tuesday 15 May Fairlie Village Hall 2-5pm
Wednesday 16 May Saltcoats Town Hall 6-8.30pm
Thursday 17 May Largs Library 10am-1pm
Tuesday 22 May Ormidale Pavillion, Brodick, Arran 10am-4pm
Wednesday 23 May The Portal, Irvine 10am-4pm
Thursday 24 May West Kilbride Village Hall 3-8pm
Tuesday 29 May Kilwinning Bowling Club 6-8pm

Thursday 31 May Stevenston Library 2-5pm
Tuesday 5 June Garrison House, Millport 3-7.30pm Tuesday 12 June Rosearden Hall, Dalry 6-8pm
