CUSTOMERS of a Kilwinning bakers won’t be surprised to learn it was awarded best morning roll and top tatty scone in Scotland at a national awards night last week.
The bakery took home many more prizes during the glittering Scottish Bakers of the Year awards ceremony last week.
Beth MacSween said she was delighted after her bakery left with many top prizes on the night.
She said: “We are extremely pleased to be recognised as one of Scotland’s best bakers. We take our business very seriously and use traditional methods and craft skills to deliver quality every time.
“But we could not have come this far in the competition without the votes of all our customers, thank you.”
On the night Beth Brownings also won;
Regional Bronze Award in the Morning Roll category
Best scone in the Borders and Lowlands
National silver for their oven fruit scone
Regional gold for their plain scone
Best potato scone in Scotland
Regional gold and national for their gypsy cream.
The awards are organised by Scottish Bakers - a company dedicated to promoting the interest of bakers all around the country - and was presented by Mich Turner MBE.
Mich Turner, owner of award winning Little Venice Cake Company, handed out the awards. She said: There have been some fantastic entries and all the prizes I have handed out to bakers have been worthy in every way.
“I wish all our winners well in the coming year.”
