A 26-year-old man has died and two passengers seriously injured after a crash on the B769.
Police are appealing for information after the fatal road crash near to West Lambroughton on Monday, July 16.
At around 9.45pm on Monday evening, the 26 year-old man was driving a Volkswagen Golf along the B769 Stewarton to Irvine Road, when the car left the road and struck a tree.
Emergency services attended and the three men in the car were taken by ambulance to Crosshouse Hospital.
The 26-year-old driver of the car died in hospital a short time later.
The two passengers in the car are both being treated at Crosshouse Hospital for serious injuries.
Hospital staff describe both their conditions as serious.
Sergeant Kevin Blackley of Ayrshire Road Policing Unit is appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or anyone who saw the Volkswagen Golf driving on that road before the crash took place to contact Irvine Police Office through 101 quoting reference number 4223 of 16th July.
