CASTEPARK Primary has beaten scores of other UK schools in a national contest to win a new playground.
The Irvine primary school was one of 32 from across the UK who entered the competition, run by TerraCycle in conjunction with Febreze, to win a sustainable playground which is partially made from recycled plastics.
And this afternoon (Thursday, August 2) the school got official news that they have won the contest.
Castlepark Primary’ s eco-committee secured their place in the competition by signing up to become one of TerraCycle’s local collection points for items that are regularly sent to landfill including cleaning spray bottles, food pouches and used pens.
A spokesperson for the school thanked everyone who voted for them: “It’s official. We have won.
“Thank you so much to everyone who supported us, we couldn’t have done it without you”
