Two homes were broken into and a car was stolen in Irvine this week.

Police are appealing for information after two houses in the Montgomerie Park area were entered and property stolen from within between midnight and 5.30am on Monday, August 13.

These included car keys and subsequently a Mercedes-Benz car was taken from outside.

Constable Ryan Dornan from North Ayrshire Priority Policing Team said: “This type of crime can make people feel vulnerable in their own home and I would like to reassure local residents that extensive enquiries are continuing to trace whoever is responsible.

"House to house enquiries are continuing and officers are studying local CCTV footage to gather more information.

"At this time I would urge anyone who was in the area of Montgomerie Park in the early hours of Monday morning, who witnessed anything suspicious to come forward to police.

"We are also working to trace the stolen vehicle. The Mercedes Benz C-class AMG coupe has the registration number SE17 TWX, and I would urge anyone who has seen this car, of who has any information on its current whereabouts to contact us."

Anyone with information should contact Irvine Police Office through 101 quoting incident number 0594 of 13th August.  Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained."
