POLICE are appealing for information after a teenager was glassed at a football match in Kilwinning at the weekend.
The 16-year-old was rushed to hospital after being struck on the head by a glass at Abbey Park during Saturday’s Kilwinning Rangers vs Beith Juniors clash.
Ayrshire Police Division confirmed they are hoping to get more information about the attack and appealed for witnesses to contact Saltcoats Police Office.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “At around 4.45pm on Saturday police were called to a report of a 16-year-old having been struck by a glass at Abbey Park in Kilwinning.
“He was taken by ambulance to Crosshouse Hospital where he received treatment for a head injury.”
The spokeswoman added: “Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Saltcoats Police Office on 101.
