A man who stole booze from Beith Co-op is to be sentenced at the end of the month.
Ronald McAfferty, of Longbar Avenue in Glengarnock, appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week and pled guilty to one charge.
The court heard that McAfferty pinched £38 worth of alcohol from the store on August 5 and that there was no recovery of the stolen items.
McAfferty’s solicitor said that his client is currently on a Community Payback Orde rand was now involved with Turning Point in Paisley.
The solicitor added: “This was a major relapse, but he’s done something about it in a positive sense.”
Sheriff Michael Hanlon deferred sentence on McAfferty until October 30 to call alongside other matters. McAfferty was bailed until then.
