A GANG of youths kicked off after they were refused entry to a 40th birthday party they attempted to gatecrash in Shawlands.

Cops were called to the flat in Minard Road at around 11.35pm on Friday night.

It is understood that a 40th birthday party was being held when the group of youths kicked the close door before trying to make their way towards the flat.

They claimed that someone inside owed them money but were unsuccessful in their attempts to gain entry.

It is understood that once they left the close, they threw glass bottles at the window of the property.

Cops arrived but the group had left the scene.

Police Scotland confirmed that there was no damage caused during the disturbance.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman added: “Officers attended and advice was given.”
