RESIDENTS are being encouraged to report street lighting faults as soon as possible with the darker nights ahead.
The council has officers who will regularly inspect streets over winter, however, they still need the public’s help to ensure that all its lights are working.
Around half of the street lights in North Ayrshire are LED lights which use less energy and generate less CO2 than traditional street lights – which the council says allows them to monitor these lights remotely.
Residents can report a lighting fault through the council’s website at www. north-ayrshire.gov.uk/ lightingfault
Faults can also be logged by calling 01294 310000 during office hours. Any resident who has requested a street lighting repair can also view the council’s response times online.
