A LOCAL dance school was celebrating after national success at the weekend.
Dance Mafia attended the Dance Champs UK grand final in Dundee after qualifying earlier on this year and they took four teams to this prestigious event along with over 100 supporters of friends and family.
Coach Amyleigh Cavanagh said: “This was our first time qualifying for Dance Champs UK grand final and we have worked so so hard over the last few months as we know the best of the best are being represented at this competition.
“We were not wrong the competition was by far the hardest we have ever came up against but was very inspirational to see the amazing talent our country has and my four teams absolutely smashed it.”
Out of the the four teams, three finished in second place with the Under 7 Hip Hop Team ‘Lil G’s’ lifting the crown of UK Champions
Amyleigh added: “They are just an amazing bunch of kids from the Three Towns showing Scotland what they are made of and making the best memories along the way.
“We walked away with our under 7 hip hop team Lil G’s being crowned dance champs UK champions and Under 10 team The Mob, Under 13 Maniacs and Under 16 Outlawz all placing second.
“Amazing results for such a massive competition.”
Dance Mafia have also been selected to take part in the Dance Champs stage show at Glasgow’s SECC where famous singer/dancer and Sky 1’s Got To Dance judge and member of the Pussycat Dolls Kimberly Wyatt will be presenting.
