SALTCOATS Christmas Lights Group is forging ahead with plans for their Christmas Extravaganza on Sunday, November 25.

The group are planning an afternoon of fun starting with a parade at 2pm from Cafe Melbourne, Hamilton Street, Saltcoats led by members of Isle of Cumbrae Pipe Band. Santa will be at the Masonic Club from 2.15pm and every child will receive a free gift.

Last entry to see Santa and Mrs Claus will be 4.30pm prompt – Santa and Mrs Claus have to find their way to the balcony at Saltcoats Town Hall!

Saltcoats Christmas Lights Group will be selling wristbands for £5 allowing admission and unlimited use of fairground rides situated in Vernon Street Car Park, (excludes all stalls and food). Single rides will cost £2.

There will be music by North Ayrshire Schools Music under the auspices of Mrs Hands at Saltcoats Lesser Town Hall, modern dance by Dance Mafia in Saltcoats Town Hall, Santa’s Grotto in the Masonic Club, Bradshaw Street, Funfair at Vernon Street Car Park, Disney characters, Transformers and Dinosaur and a Lightning McQueen car.

There will be two live entertainment stages hosted by West Coast Castles – Countess Street and Dockhead Street/Green Street junctionand music from Raise Your Voice Ardeer Choir.

Tickets for the modern dance will be available from Lisa of Dance Mafia.

The Keepy Uppy King will be performing his football skills in Dockhead Street.

A performance of The Greatest Showman on the main stage in Countess Street will build to a grand finale where Santa may abseil from the tower at Saltcoats Town Hall or will he arrive by helicopter?

Santa, Mrs Claus and three schoolchildren will switch on the Christmas Lights at 5.30pm from the balcony at Saltcoats Town Hall, Countess Street.
