Man arrested after Kilwinning pensioner's handbag snatched
A man is due to appear in court in connection with a robbery at a Sheltered Housing Unit in Kilwinning.
Police had previously appealed for information following an incident which took place on Sunday afternoon at Hawthorn Place in the town.
An 83-year-old woman allegedly had her handbag stolen and the suspect fled on a bike.
Police confirmed this morning that a 50-year-old man had been arrested and will appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court this afternoon.
