A SALTCOATS woman who threatened to kill her 64-year-old neighbour after branding her a “paedo” is awaiting sentence.

Lisa Dearie stood outside the woman’s flat door screaming “I’m going to kill you” before calling her a “paedo b****rd”.

Kilmarnock Sheriff Court was told Dearie, 34, lives above the woman in Saltcoats’ Harbour Street and launched the verbal assault on September 6 this year.

The fiscal depute Vicky McMillan told the court: “The complainer and the accused are neighbours. The complainer is a 64-year old woman who resides in a flat in Harbour Street in Saltcoats.

“She heard the close door open and someone banging on her door. She then heard the accused shouting “paedo b****rd”.

“Her behaviour went on for a few minutes until police were contacted. The accused then returned around 15 minutes later shouting “I’m going to kill you, you fat cow.

“The accused lives directly above the witness and she was able to identify her voice.

“Police attended and went to the accused’s home. When they informed her she was under arrest she began shouting and swearing again.

“When the accused was being led through the common close she turned towards the complainer’s door and shouted: “This is embarrassing, all because of you, you paedo b****rd.

Dearie was arrested and charged with threatening and abusive behaviour and pled guilty at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week.

The case was adjourned for reports. Dearie will return to court next month for sentencing.
