A popular dancing robot will be coming back to Irvine this week to raise money for a children's charity.

Back by popular demand, the legendary Robert the Robot will return to Irvine's Bridgegate one last time to please his fans from 2.30pm this Wednesday, December 19.

And the dancing robot, who was once headbutted by Rab C Nesbitt in an episode of the cult comedy, will be raising money for Cash for Kids in the process.

Residents will be able to get a picture with the dancing legend for the price of only £1 for Cash for Kids.

Robert the Robot told the Times: "I had kind of retired but people were asking for me back so I thought why not.

"I want to say thanks to all who have watched over the years and I've been flabbergasted with all the support.

"A lot of people have said they're keen to see it again, it's going to be quite emotional as it's been about 35 years since starting back in 1983."

Robert the Robot will also be back dancing in Glasgow's Argyle street on Friday, December 21 starting at 12pm.

The Robert the Robot Anthem is also available to download via iTunes.
