Irvine police will be cracking down on noisy house parties in the town in the run up to Christmas.
Police are encouraging residents to report any rowdy gatherings warning they will seize musical equipment if they receive two reports within a 24hour period.
Sgt Jason Drury told Irvine’s community council this month: “We’re going to be carrying out proactive visits to problematic party houses in the Irvine area to try and reduce levels of antisocial behaviour.
“There is legislation where if that happens we can seize any noise making equipment and charge the householders. If there’s two reports within 24 hours we can use that legislation – which is something that we’ll be looking to do especially at this time of the year.”
