Buffs bosses have unveiled ambitious plans to move to Kilwinning Sports Club – if fans give their proposals the green light next week.

The Kilwinning Rangers Committee have revealed a detailed make-or-break plan ahead of the crucial vote which takes place on Wednesday, January 16.

Within the plans Buffs bosses say the costs to repair crumbling Abbey Park would start at a minimum of £137,000 – for upgraded sewage, power supply and installing new changing facilities, amongst other things.

According to the proposals, a move to the Pennyburn sports club would be £16,000 which would cover the cost of terracing, stands, fencing, paths and a hospitality suite, which is currently at the planning stage with North Ayrshire Council .

Club chiefs say the running costs of staying at Abbey Park are around £23,000 each season.

Comparatively, bosses say annual running costs at the sports club would be £8,000.

Bosses say if the move gets the green light from voters, match day revenues will go to Kilwinning Rangers.

On non-match days profit from the gate, bar and catering facilities will go into a common fund to help improve other areas of KSC for the benefit of the whole community.

The plans also indicate that certain areas of the sports club would be cordoned off on match days to prevent people spectating for free.

In the situation of a ‘Yes’ vote the committee says that the move and improvement plan will take three seasons to complete, which would mean pausing the AGM election voting and remain in place for those three seasons.

However in the event of a ‘No’ vote an EGM will be held on Friday, January 18 to elect a new committee.

In order to have their say, voters must go to Abbey Park between 4pm and 8pm with their season ticket or be on the list of committee/volunteers/coaches/players.

The vote will be administered by an independent third party with the committee in talks with Donald Reid and/or Kilwinning Community Council to take up the role.
