A man has been bailed after facing allegations of attempting to meet a child for sex in Irvine.
James Parker, 55, faced two charges when he appeared from custody at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Monday, January 15.
Parker, of the Kilmarnock area, faced one charge of allegedly communicating and travelling with the intention of meeting someone under the age of 16 to engage in unlawful sexual activity.
He also faced a second allegation of sending an indecent written communication to a child who has not attained the age of 13.
Parker entered no plea to the charges and the case was continued for further examination.
He was granted bail and will return to court at a later date.
