THE Tories have suffered the biggest defeat of any UK Government ever after Theresa May’s Brexit deal was overwhelmingly defeated.

The Prime Minister’s agreement was defeated by 432 to 202. The margin of 230 was far bigger than had been anticipated.

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has tabled a motion of no confidence in the Government, supported by SNP leader Ian Blackford, Lib Dem chief Vince Cable, Green MP Caroline Lucas, and Plaid Cymru’s Liz Saville Roberts, which will be debated in the Commons on Wednesday.

Seconds after the result was read out in the Commons, May took to her feet, pre-empting Corbyn to say he government would make time for the no-confidence motion.

Corbyn said the vote would allow MPs to "give its verdict on the sheer incompetence of this government".

However, it’s unlikely the Tories will be defeated. According to the BBC, the DUP, who prop up May’s government have said they will support the Prime Minister.

EU Council president Donald Tusk took to Twitter to suggest Brexit be cancelled.

“If a deal is impossible, and no one wants no deal, then who will finally have the courage to say what the only positive solution is?” he tweeted.
