Facilities at Eglinton Park will remain closed over the weekend due to a burst water main.

The toilets, cafe and rangers office will stay shut for the time being after a pipe burst on Thursday.

Organisers of the Eglinton Parkrun advised runners of the situation, but reassure the event will go ahead as planned.

A spokesperson for Eglinton Country Park said: "Unfortunately, due to the burst mains water supply here at the Park, our facilities remain unopen.

"We apologies for any inconvenience this may cause and we hope this will be amended as soon as possible.

Parkrun organisers said: "The park has had a burst water main and at the moment both the toilets and cafe are closed.

"Run will still go ahead with the route looking fine and ice free.

"The park rangers have been in contact to inform us that there will definitely be no toilet or cafe facilities available tomorrow at the park due to a burst water pipe."
