THE 2019 Pedal the Park in support of CLIC Sargent is now open for entries.

The 100km cycling sportive takes place on Sunday, May 5 and tours through Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park. CLIC Sargent helps families in the local area in dealing with their children being affected by cancer. The entry fee is just £20 and over a third of this goes to the charity.

The route departs from the Castle Semple Visitor Centre in Lochwinnoch, goes through the rolling countryside of Renfrewshire, through Inverclyde, up to the hill surrounding Loch Thom, and descending the Brisbane Glen into Largs. The most challenging part of the sportive comes just slightly further on – the climb of the Fairlie Moor Road.

The event is hosted in collaboration with Ride63 Community Cycling Club whose members not only take part but volunteer as marshals and at the feed station, sometimes stocking it with home baking.

Volunteers and spectators are most welcome to cheer on and support the cyclists – contact routes@clydemuirshiel.co.uk with your availability on the day.

Entry is through British Cycling as a registered sportive – just search ‘Pedal the Park 2019’.
