Children at St Bridget’s Primary School Nursery Class are happy and in an excellent environment according to the latest inspection report.

The nursery was rated ‘excellent’ for quality of care and support and for quality of environment in the report by the Care Inspectorate.

Inspectors noted: “We observed children attending during our visit to be happy and having fun.”

The inspectors also revealed that parents told them “staff go above and beyond what is expected of them” and praised the “stimulating, welcoming and friendly atmosphere”.

The report described the staff as “friendly, respectful and welcoming in their interactions with children and families”.

Staff were also commended for being “warm, caring and compassionate towards children” and for showing “a sensitive and nurturing approach in supporting children’s emotional wellbeing”.

The report added: “As a result, children had formed strong attachments with staff and were clearly comfortable and confident in staff’s company and readily approached them for help and support.”

Children’s outdoor learning experience was also commended: “The nursery had an extensive outdoor area which allowed

children to explore, be creative, active, and imaginative and learn about nature.

“Staff and families had fully embraced the Forest Kindergarten approach and the outdoor nursery experiences provided by staff. Staff understood and recognised the benefits of outdoor experiences provided and the positive impact on the health, wellbeing and safety of children.”
