A man has admitted to assaulting a woman, continuously phoning her and sending her offensive messages.

Marc McLelland repeatedly punched the woman on the head and kicked her on the body at his home in Irvine’s Annick Road on Christmas Eve.

He then engaged in a course of conduct which caused the woman fear and alarm between December 25 and 27.

The 22-year-old repeatedly attended the woman’s Stevenston home, banged on a door and shouted, repeatedly phoned her, left voicemails of him shouting and swearing and continuously sent her texts with offensive remarks.

McLelland pled guilty to two amended charges at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week.

He was bailed and will be sentenced on March 11 following social works reports.
