ROADSHOWS are being held across North Ayrshire giving residents the opportunity to have their questions answered on the upcoming bin changes.

Households will begin to receive their new purple bin from February 25 and should begin to use it after their last blue bin collection in March.

The purple bin will be used for glass, cans, plastics and cartons, while the blue bin will instead be used for paper, card and cardboard only.

These two bins, along with the grey general waste bin will be collected on a three weekly cycle beginning in April.

All households on the mainland and Cumbrae will receive information through the post on the changes along a new collection calendar.

During the roadshow the team will also be dishing out handy hints and tips on how to get the most out of recycling by putting the right stuff in the right bin.
