Commuters have felt the full force of Storm Gareth as rail services in North Ayrshire were cancelled due to gale force winds.

All train services to Glasgow will start from Kilwinning after a tree fell onto the overhead wires between Irvine and Kilwinning.

Services between Ardrossan and Kilwinning have been cancelled so far today with delays likely throughout the day as the winds continue to cause havoc.

Irvine Times:

Replacement bus services are in place and Scotrail are updating as the weather changes.

Ferry services between Ardrossan and Brodick are cancelled with a review at 12.30pm but operator Calmac say that more cancellations are likely.

Stagecoach are not reporting any major delays but services are likely to be busier as trains are off.

We'll keep you updated with any further news on the travel and weather as Storm Gareth progresses.
