Irvine and Dreghorn Brass Band were thrilled to be crowned champions during a national competition last week.
The band took the first place trophy in the third section during the Scottish Brass Band Association’s Scottish Championships.
The band, conducted by musical director Lewis Bettles, secured a points place of 186 1 with their rendition of First Suite in Eb by Gustav Holst arr. Sydney Herbert.
Irvine and Dreghorn Brass Band thanked its members for their award-winning performance and said: “We just want to say a massive congratulations to our awesome Musical Director, Lewis Bettles on his first ever contest with the band.
“Well done on a phenomenal result.”
