Hundreds from across the UK are expected to join this year’s South Ayrshire Golf Festival – which sees the Girvan Golf Classic celebrate its 30th anniversary.

This year’s programme also includes the showcase Ayr Golf Week which returns for its 68th year, alongside the Troon Golf Weekender.

All competitions are based from modern clubhouses which offer competitors a comfortable base ahead of challenging rounds.

Ayr Golf Week tees off on Monday, June 3 until Sunday, June 9, followed by the Troon Golf Weekender from Friday, August 23 to Sunday, August 25, with the Girvan Golf Classic from Friday, September 27 to Sunday, September 29.

Cllr Brian McGinley, Portfolio Holder for Economy and Culture said: “Golf is part of South Ayrshire’s DNA and we’re proud to promote our courses across the UK and firmly staking our claim as worthwhile additions to the national spor ting calendar.

“By encouraging existing and new golfers to take part in our three main competitions, including the free junior open, we’re also helping to safeguard the future of our courses and spreading the word about the quality of our offering.

“I’d encourage regular competitors to take advantage of the early bird discounts and recommend anyone who hasn’t taken part before to look us up and sign-up soon.” A 20 per cent discount is available for Ayr Golf week until Friday, April 19; and for the Troon Golf Weekender and Girvan Golf Classic until Friday, May 31.
