St Palladius’ Primary pupils ‘went bananas’ with a Fairtrade coffee morning recently.
The school’s Fairtrade Committee arranged the event for family and friends to fundraise for the cause during Fairtrade Fortnight. Pupils also took part in a ‘Fairtrade Banana Homework Challenge’, which saw them get creative with fruit for a competition held in the school.
Children designed bananas into characters as part of the challenge and the winners were picked by an employee from Lidl Dalry.
The local Lidl also provided the Fairtrade bananas for the homework challenge and donated some of their products for the coffee morning.
