North Ayrshire Women’s Aid has praised the funding it has received from the Digital Participation Charter Fund to help women with Universal Credit applications.

The charity highlighted that many of the women they deal with do not have internet access or an email account, which is required for benefit, and can’t afford to pay for an internet provider or a smart phone.

The funding North Ayrshire Women’s Aid received allowed them to purchase the necessary kit to help them run a group where women could be supported to improve their digital skills.

Amy Parks, Women’s Aid worker, said: “Without the support of the Charter Fund we may not have able to provide so much additional digital support to our vulnerable women and children.”
