Irvine residents got decked out in a selection of colourful costumes for town’s first ever comic con event.
Comic Con organisers Big Glasgow Comics Page (BGCP) thanked residents after taking the event to the town, which celebrates comic book, science fiction and fantasy characters.
Attendees enjoyed more 30 stalls in The Volunteer Rooms selling everything from comics, action figures, art, trading cards, Lego, jewellery with plenty of workshops, quizzes and competitions both days.
They also got dressed up in a colourful selection of costumes for the daily cosplay competitions – where attendees get dressed up as their favourite fantasy character.
Organiser Scott Gorman said: “It was a good weekend, I’m still recovering for the 5.30am starts, but we’ve had a lot of great feedback. Loads of people turned out for the cosplay, there was loads of brilliant costumes. It was a decent enough venue and well-located.
“Thanks to everyone who came out this weekend, thanks for an amazing time Irvine.
“Thank you to all the super talented vendors, the hardworking volunteers and excellent Cosplayers who took part in the Cosplay Competitions.
BGCP Comic Con, which takes conventions to smaller towns will be back in Ayrshire next month for an event in Ayr. Visit www.bigglasgowcomicpage.com/product/ayr-comic-con-2019-tickets/
