People in Irvine and Kilwinning are being encouraged to enjoy a big lunch together in June.
The Eden Project Communities have recently embarked on a tour across Scotland spreading the word about how The Big Lunch can be such a fun away to change your community for the better.
A workshop held in Irvine’s Royal British Legion branch was well attended with participants from voluntary and community organisations, the Scottish Government and the three Ayrshire councils and others looking to set up Big Lunches in their streets.
Cunninghame South MSP Ruth Maguire said: “It can be anything from a small gathering in a garden, park or driveway to a larger party in a community centre or with tables down the middle of your street – weather and midges permitting.”
Kilwinning Cllr Donald Reid said: “Music in the Park and the Big Lunch will be an ideal partnership to bring our communities together while enjoying music by Ayrshire Talent in McGavin Park on Sunday, June 2.”
