Kind-hearted bikers raised more than £3,000 for sick kids in Crosshouse at the annual Easter Egg Run at the weekend.

Ayrshire-based Hillbillies MCC held their annual Easter Egg charity run on Saturday – with members also celebrating the 20th anniversary year of the club.

And glorious weather brought out more than 260 motorcyclists for the run which raised a tremendous £3,340 to help kids at Crosshouse hospital.

Attendees gathered at noon at Mauchline Primary School for a burger and a chat before heading off on the run at 1pm to Crosshouse Hospital with a £5 donation for each machine.

A spokesperson for the Hillbillies MCC said: “What an amazing turn out for our 20th anniversary egg run. Glorious weather brought over 260 bikes down to Mauchline to join in on the run. Well done to each and every one of you.

“A whopping £3,340 was donated to Crosshouse Hospitals Children’s Unit, what a fantastic amount.

“A few thanks to give to the Mauchline Center Stane for their donation, as well as Frasers snack bar for there generosity in donating all todays takings.

“And we can’t forget to mention our resident knitter Margaret who knitted her wee socks off and contributed a humongous £450 to our grand total today. Well done and thank you Margaret.”
