GIRVAN Traditional Folk festival spread its wings this year with the art exhibition and connections with local writer’s group and poetry enthusiasts.

The number of visitors from further afield including Ireland and England was much increased, evidenced by the large number of motor homes and available accommodation was filled, some people staying as far away as Ballantrae.

There were some very special events including an emotional yet uplifting performance of Jock’s Jocks, a powerful exploration of World War One.

The final concert was headlined my Bob Fox from National Theatre’s production of Warhorse.
