A 19-year-old was seriously injured after a stabbing during a large-scale disturbance involving around 90 youths in Eglinton Park.

Detectives are appealing for information after the incident on Wednesday, May 15.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “At around 8.20pm on Wednesday evening, police were called to a report of a man seriously assaulted following a large-scale disturbance involving around 90 youths near to Eglinton Castle within Eglinton Country Park.

“The injured 19-year-old man was taken by ambulance to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock where he was treated for stab wounds then later released.”
